Terms and Conditions at The Paw Club
General
The Paw Club is a trading name for “Paws & Pets Ltd”. We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16681036. Our registered address is 20b, Bramhall Ln South, Bramhall, Stockport, SK7 1AF.
Allergies
We will aim to use sensitive shampoo, oatmeal shampoo, hypoallergenic shampoo and Evening Primrose Oil shampoo where needed however, it is your responsibility as a pet owner to let us know if we are to use these shampoos due your pet suffering from allergies or extremely sensitive skin. We charge an extra fee of £3 for the use of this shampoo as it is more costly than regular shampoo. We do however ask you to bring your own medicated shampoo if you are unsure if your dog will react to our shampoos. This includes our spray cologne. Please let us know if we are not to use the sprays.
Elderly Dogs and Dogs with Health Concerns
It comes at your own risk to book a groom for your dog who is sick or elderly. The Paw Club will not be held responsible for the accidental death of your pet as a result of any pre-existing health condition, or any conditions discovered during the grooming process. We will always put the dogs welfare above anything else, so if we think it is best not to groom, we will refuse on the day, upon assessment. If during the process we believe it is best to stop the groom, even if we are half way through, we will not hesitate to stop and tell you to collect your pet immediately.
Dental Scale and Polish
Teeth scale and polish is suitable for dogs with mild to moderate plaque and tartar build up. It can be a great benefit for your dogs oral health. Owners should be aware that the removal of mild plaque and tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen or spotted prior to this treatment, that may need veterinary attention to properly diagnose and treat.
Ear Plucking
As per our description on our services section under Ear Plucking, you will see this is only done upon request and examination. Ear Plucking is a crucial part of grooming, but only when needed as this can lead to irritation of the ear canal.
Deposits & Cancellations
You may be asked to pay a refundable or rolling deposit upon booking at a total of £15 at the salon’s discretion to secure your appointment. Your deposit secures against any missed or cancelled appointments outside of the companies' policies and will NOT be refunded unless 48 hours' notice is given prior to your cancellation or unless you are cancelling due to unforeseen circumstances.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we cannot guarantee we will still have time to fit you in, but we will offer the services we have the time for or reschedule to our next, nearest, available appointment. Your deposit may NOT be refunded.
Late Pick-Up Fee
We unfortunately do not have the facilities to take your dog out to the toilet. We therefore expect you to collect your dog at the agreed time on the contract. For every 30 minutes you are late, you will incur a late fee of £5 added to your total.
Toilet
Toilet time for your pet is crucial before their grooming appointment to ensure they are relieved and comfortable during their grooming session.
Feeding Time at the Zoo
Please avoid feeding your dog their Breakfast or Dinner before their grooming appointment or feed them at least 2 hours before.
Vaccinations
As a pet owner, you are responsible for vaccinating your pet and keeping their vaccines up to date. If your pet is not vaccinated, this can be a health risk, and your groom will be refused. Puppies can only be groomed a minimum of 2 weeks AFTER their SECOND vaccination. Your grooming appointment will be refused if your pet is not vaccinated or has not had their second vaccines.
Medication or Illness/Infection
It is crucial that you inform the groomer upon booking of any medical conditions, illnesses, infections AND/OR medication that your pet is currently taking. You may be asked for an official letter from your registered vet, stating that your pet is healthy to be groomed, before the groom is carried out.
Microchip
We will not groom any dog that has been microchipped within the last 24 hours.
Right to Refuse
We have the right to refuse any pet their groom without reason. This includes if your pet is unwell, has any signs of infection or illness at the time of the appointment. Your pet's health is our priority, and we have a duty of care.
We have the right to cancel or refuse a groom if in our opinion it could affect the pet's welfare to start or continue a groom or if there is risk of our groomers being injured. We take this very seriously. We will always try our best.
Dangerous Dog Act
We will NOT groom any dog that are registered under the Dangerous Dog Act 1991, the Dangerous (Amendment) Act 1997 or any future amendments to this Act. This includes any dog that is, or is crossed with:
Pitbull Terrier
Japanese Tosa
Dogo Argentino
Fila Brasilerio
Matted Dogs
We will endeavour to groom your pet to your requirements, which will be discussed during your pet's consultation, however if your pet’s coat is excessively matted, the matted coat will be clipped (shaved) out.
Depending on the severity of the matted coat, there may be an additional charge in addition to the grooming price. This will be charged at £5 for matting behind the ears and on the backs of the legs or under the belly and an extra £40 charge if the matting is on the body. We will do this for a maximum of 15 minutes to avoid unnecessary pain and after this time, if we cannot get the matting out, we will recommend a clip off (shave) for the dogs welfare as per our Clipping Policy, which means that it may not be possible to achieve the style you desire.
Our Primary concern is to relieve any distress or discomfort your pet may be experiencing because of their severely or excessively matted coat.
Please call before booking if you wish to discuss this further. We are happy to advise.
Clipping Policy
It may be necessary to clip (shave) your pet if their coat is excessively matted, beyond de-matting with de-matting tools. We will always discuss this with the owner before we go ahead with this. We do this to ensure the welfare of your pet and to avoid them being in any discomfort and/or distress.
Double Coated Breeds
We will NOT clip off any dog that has a double coat without veterinary direction supplied to us in writing.
Clipping a double coat can have serious effects on a dog's coat re-growth. More importantly, this leaves your dog being unable to regulate their body temperature and in more serious cases, this can cause alopecia, bald spots, skin irritation and skin trauma.
We may clip out small areas to provide comfort at the groin or under the armpit only.
Two Groomer Dogs
It may be necessary to carry out your dog's groom with two groomers for example due to the behaviour of your dog, or to ensure the welfare for your dog (i.e. older dogs).
In such circumstances, this will be charged on top of your groom, at £10 per 30-minutes. You MUST contact us before booking this to ensure we have suitable staff and time available.
Extra Care Policies
Pets in season or pregnant will NOT be accepted for a groom of any sort.
No Shows
If you decide not to show up to your appointment without notice we will charge you 100% of your grooming fee before you will be allowed to re-book.
Once you re-book, we will charge 50% of the grooming fee as a deposit amount which will be taken off your bill once the groom is complete.
Until we are satisfied you will turn up to your grooming appointment, we will continue to charge your deposit at 50%. We have to be strict on this as it is a business and if we have no shows, we miss out on time and money. This could be booked for other customers who may be waiting desperately for a grooming appointment.
48 Hour Cancellation
We have decided to give a 48 hour notice period to cancel your grooming appointment. If you do not give a minimum of 48 hours notice, your deposit will not be refundable.
Fleas
If your pet is found to have fleas during the groom, a £12 fee will be charged on top of your groom, to cover a flea shampoo wash and a salon disinfect.
If we find fleas on your pet upon drop off, we WILL refuse the groom, to protect other pets and your deposit will be non-refundable. Please check your dog's coat before booking.
We will only be able to accept your dog back once the fleas have been treated and the coat is clear of any fleas.
Anal Gland
We do not perform anal gland expression as part of any service. It is at our decision that this should only be performed by a licensed veterinary nurse or vet surgeon, under their opinion that the glands need expressing.
Ticks
If your pet is found to have a tick, we can remove this for an additional charge of £3. We will contact you to let you know and ask your permission before we remove this. Ticks are known carriers of disease, so it is important that a professional removes this.
Muzzling
Any pet that is aggressive towards another groomer or pet in the salon, may require a muzzle. It is the owner's responsibility to let us know if their pet is aggressive and to give permission for us to use a muzzle on their pet. If you refuse a muzzle, we may refuse any further grooming. Your deposit may not be refundable.
Loss or Damage
We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal items.
Insurance of your pet
We strongly advise that your pet is insured. Whilst we take all the necessary precautions whilst your pet is in our care, injury, illness, and death is still possible and we will not accept any responsibility if you pet suffers this during our care, except to the extent we are unable to limit or exclude our liability.
Complaints
Any complaints with regards to the Grooming Salon must be directed, in the first instance to Remi Hilton (The Director and Manager at The Paw Club).
Disclosure
As a responsible pet owner and customer of The Paw Club I (owner) will be honest to inform The Paw Club Dog Groomers if my dog has ever expressed any concerning behaviour or has ever bitten any animal and/or human during the grooming process, or whilst in new environments or whilst being around another dog that is unknown to mine. I agree that I, the owner will be held accountable for any harm, injury, death, or damage to the property caused by my pet. The Paw Club reserves the rights to refuse to groom any pet that is unsatisfactory, including but not limiting to behavioural issues.
Kennel Cough
If your dog has a Kennel Cough we require an official Vet Letter, confirming your pet is able to be groomed and to be within close proximity to other dogs before we can accept your dog in for a groom.
Crate Guarding
If you dog crate guards, you must make The Paw Club aware not to crate your dog under any circumstances and to have them on a leash instead in an open area.
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
